“Life is not about how many breaths you take. It’s about the moments that take your breath away.”-Will Smith, Hitch

Albuquerque Alpacas is home to a growing herd of quality huacaya alpacas. We are located in the North Valley, on the east side of the Rio Grande River.  The historic Acequia Madre irrigation ditch flows adjacent to the ranch transforming the desert into lush, green pastures where our animals graze and frolic.

The rural setting is just minutes from Interstate-25.  It is surrounded by the greater metropolitan area and all it has to offer in terms of recreation, cultural points of interest, and a wide range of amenities.

Our goal is to offer a wide range of colors in varying price ranges from show to pet quality.  One of the many benefits to having a small farm is the ability to spend time handling each of our animals based on the principles of Marty McGee Bennet's, Camelidynamics.  This approach allows us to develop a respectul, trusting relationship with all our alpacas which makes herd management chores a breeze.

Our breeding philosophy is straight-forward. We are currently using the following herdsires in our breeding program: Cresent Moon's Pinnacle, a "4Peruvian Legacy" son;  Sandman, Dom Lucilio's first born son;  El Maestro, son of General Schwarzkopf (La Buena Vida Alpacas), and Crescent Moon's Shockwave (now standing at Albuquerque Alpacas; co-owned by Blue Mesa Alpacas) a Legacy son.  Each have multiple blue ribbons and a color championship and/or Color Reserve to their credit.

We hope you enjoy browsing our website and invite you to come by for a visit! I am happy to clarifying any questions you may have about what it takes to raise alpacas whether it be for profit or fun.

Testimonial:

"I like to come out to this farm because everything is always clean and organized.  I visit a lot of farms in my practice and at Albuquerque Alpacas, I always see so many healthy crias running around.  Success is right here. You are doing things right!"
